James D. Hagan

James Donald Hagan passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Autumn Lake Healthcare Loch Raven. James, “Don, Jim or Jimmy” was born on May 16, 1936 in Glen Arm, Maryland to the late Mr. James Francis Hagan and the late Mrs. Anna Marie Hagan. In July 1955, James married the late Colleen M. Daily and had their first child, Deborah Ann Hagan. Years later, James re-married the late Rosalie D. Fetzer on March 17th, 1960 and they had two sons, James D. Hagan, Jr. who unfortunately passed shortly after birth and Michael James Hagan. James is a retired Baltimore City Police Officer. He entered the police force on October 24, 1957 and retired on January 6, 1990. He later went to work at Johnson-Fosbrink funeral home. His hobbies were NASCAR, horse races, and the casino’s. James is a man of God. He supported his congregation and attended church daily. James is an early riser, even after retirement. Post retirement, James gathered at Burger King, McDonalds or Chick-fil-a every morning to have breakfast with his buddies and would walk White Marsh Mall every other day before the crowd rushed in. Friday evenings he would spend at The Avenue at White Marsh and enjoyed an ‘early’ dinner and live concerts. Every Sunday, he ate breakfast at the Double T Diner with his significant other LouAnn Chester. James is survived by his daughter, Debbie Battaglia and son Michael Hagan; his grandchildren, Ryan Battaglia, Heather Battaglia-Calhoun and Dana Hagan; his great-grandchildren, Dominic, Faith, Malia, Giovanni, Kaylynn, McKenzie and Mason; a host of family and friends; and is reunited with his beloved late wife, Rosalie and his late son, James Hagan, Jr. Friends may call the Johnson-Fosbrink Funeral and Cremation Services, P.A., 8521 Loch Raven Blvd. (beltway exit 29B) on Sunday, July 7th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. All are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in The Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Monday, July 8th at 9a.m. Interment St. John the Evangelist Church Cemetery, Hydes. Donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have offered their love and support during this difficult time.
